Waiwharariki Anzac Square, Takapuna Beach

Step into the vibrant world of Taste of Türkiye, a family-friendly feast for the senses hosted by the Turkiye and New Zealand Cultural Society. Held at Waiwharariki Anzac Square on February 24, 2024, the event surpassed expectations with lively music, authentic Turkish street food, and a diverse market offering unique crafts and artifacts. Families enjoyed the rich flavors, traditional backgammon fun, and the accessibility of a free event. Let's have breakfast together and spend the day together. Let us also give you information about the association, the football club and our 100th Anniversary Republic celebration! 

BBQ Sucuk & bread will also be made 

Backgammon will also be played 

We also use the football field and children/adults play ball.

Please everyone bring something for breakfast. Or you can also bring sucuk to the sucuk & bread section.

As the day approaches, we write down what we will bring.

Everyone has their own plate, glass, fork, etc. Please bring it.

Let's set up a nice breakfast table together 

When our event is over, please everyone take a hand in collecting and cleaning

During the election period, the founding teams of our organization from Auckland and Wellington had a wonderful chance to meet in person. Since meetings were mostly online, it was delightful to finally meet in person.

#Auckland, 19th March 2023 - We were thrilled to announce that our Turkish Market Day, held on March 19th, was a tremendous success, raising $16,362.89! Our heartfelt thanks to all supporters who made this possible.

The funds raised were donated to the reputable charity organization, @ahbap, known for its unwavering commitment to providing essential aid to those in need in Turkey. This contribution had a significant impact on the lives of people affected by the devastating #earthquakeinturkey.

The success of this fundraising campaign is a testament to the power of unity and compassion. We are humbled and grateful for the overwhelming response we received. Every dollar contributed played a vital role in making this project possible.

#Auckland, July 22nd, 2017 - Looking back on cherished memories, we can't help but smile at the wonderful time we had during the Backgammon Tournament, organized back in 2017. The event was an exhilarating celebration of friendship, competition, and the joy of playing backgammon.

In a heart-warming display of camaraderie, participants from diverse backgrounds united under a common love for the classic board game. The tournament buzzed with enthusiasm as players showcased their strategic finesse and shared laughter over each roll of the dice.

Amidst the spirited atmosphere, Zulha emerged as the shining star, leaving an indelible mark on the tournament's history by clinching the treasured trophy as the Backgammon Champion.

 

#Auckland, 23rd April 2019 - Kids had a blast at the Children's Day Celebration hosted by our Turkish Community. They recited adorable poems and sang cheerful songs together. The "Food" corner delighted everyone with tasty potluck style meals. We're excited to plan more fun events like this, spreading happiness and creativity among our young ones!
